HAPPY MONDAY & ANOTHER START TO A NEW WEEK & NEW BOOKS! Welp, my birthday is over. It was fantastic, and my husband really spoiled me. Flowers, gifts and all the delicious food my heart could desire. I received so many amazing birthday wishes, and I had a smile on my face the whole weekend.

Three things:

1.) I had an AMAZING birthday weekend. My husband is the sweetest and entertained all of my horror movie & food needs. Though I did choose restaurants that I knew he loved too, but I went all out on my movie choices (and I DO feel a little bad for him). LOL!

2.) Friday we went to this AMAZING Mexican restaurant called “Mi Pueblo” in Sarasota. I had my favorite “Chile Rellenos” It was fantastic. After that we came home and watched 28 Years Later. *sigh*. It wasn’t all that it was cracked up to be. It was weird and artsy, and even pretty sad at one point. Imagery was disturbing and that ending?? Ummm… okay. I guess I went with it. I’d give it a 3 out of 5 but it was NOWHERE as scary as the first 2 (the first terrified me), and it was just all around weird. The zombies actually sort of had personalities instead of terrifying kill modes. Oh no don’t get me wrong… kill modes nonetheless, but… different.

3.) The next day we went to BJ’s restaurant (in St. Pete) and that is one of my absolute favorites because their WHOLE menu sounds amazing (I want to eat ALL of it), and everything we ordered was delicious (as usual). We had Mac & cheese couscous balls, this AMAZING garlic bread and garlic butter shrimp duo (and holy moly I could pour all of that over pasta and devour it), then I tried to go healthy with a nice protein bowl (veggies & quinoa & avocado & I chose steak). But before that, we went to see “Weapons” and I was expecting to be terrified since it had (still has??) 100% rotten tomatoes (rare for Horror movies but these days the horror movies are pretty great!!). It was entertaining, riveting and had about 3 or 4 good jump scares. I liked the story, I loved the actors, but it didn’t have that scare factor (the bone chilling one) that I look for. I feel like if you have kids that LOVE scary movies, this would be fine for them? Now mind you, I’m a child of the 80s so we watched horror movies like they were going out of style so maybe that’s not acceptable anymore. But anyway… I’m giving it a 4 stars! I’d watch it again.
