I remember the series was about a powerful/wealthy/important Scottish (?) family. In the one I read, the heroine wanders away from the house and gets lost in the woods/hills/mountains around the house, and I think she caused an earthquake after being threatened by some less than scrupulous men. The hero finds her and rescues her just in the nick of time! They may have had to stay overnight in a cave, but I am not so sure about that. He does bring her back to the house where her family is staying. This includes her siblings (some of them at least) and their families. I want to say that magic runs in their family.

I can’t remember any characters names and this was one book in a series. I am pretty sure it was set in Scotland, but it could also have been in England.
