My Honest Lash Lift Kit Experience: Worth It… But Not for the Faint of Heart. It’s a bit tricky, at first…

Luxe Cosmetics – Lash Lift Kit – Complete Set for Eyelash Lifting – New Pro Version <— I did something crazy but it worked… ish. I did an at home lash-lift with that viral “Luxe” system (I saw the ad in my reels and I couldn’t help myself), and my eyelashes now look like they USED to in my 20s and 30s. YAY ME!!!!!

P.S. THESE ARE CHEMICALS near your eyeballs!!! SO if you decide to try this, do so at your own risk ’cause this is kind of crazy (at least my husband definitely thought so). Requires lots of patients and being super careful and having time to slow down and watch all the videos before starting AND I watched while I did it, as well. The vloggers doing this while I was doing it was somehow comforting to me. 😉

Okay so… here’s my experience:

I’ve always had blonde/transparent eyelashes, but they’ve always been plentiful and long and, you know… curled upwards naturally. Not drastically but whenever I’d put mascara on. you could see them perfectly and I was happy like that, with the occasional fake eyelashes for special occasions.

But when I started getting eyelash extensions for a few years (’cause now… eyelashes are EVERYTHING!! And I’ve always been an eyelash-lover), they grew back straight and even a bit downward pointed. *hrmph* 🤨 Ew. I figured after a few years of not doing them anymore, that they’d eventually come back as they were, but… they didn’t. So “Luxe” put them back in their rightful place!!! Pointing upwards but natural looking. I’m thrilled.

Mind you, it was hard AT FIRST!! Everything “they say” about this product is right (and I’m talking about real users not trying to sell you a product but actually trying it out for the first time and letting us in on it). I wish I had recorded my process but I was really just focused on watching others do it while I did mine. I didn’t want to worry about cameras, and talking, because let’s be honest. I was NERVOUS! And anyway, my lashes are so blonde you wouldn’t be able to tell in the video. Just once I get mascara on.

Anyway, it’s for sure frustrating to get the eyelid pads to stay on (one corner pops up, and then the next, and if your eyelids are a bit loose, well that’s a whole other weird-looking issue in itself with these pads). And THEN!! When you finally have the pads on okay, it’s frustrating to get the actual lashes to stick to them. I promised myself I’d be patient as all the reviews and videos stated to be, but when I got started I was SURE my lashes just weren’t the kind of lashes that this would work for. They were being SO. STUBBORN!!!!! Short, stiff, and pointing down, no matter how hard I tried to glue them upwards onto the eyelid pad. But the minute I started using the Y tool, they finally responded!!!

And once they were stuck to the eye pad, everything else was easy peasy. So yes, the first couple of steps are frustrating and making you curse the company that convinced you that you could do this, but patience and TIME (like seconds and even minutes of holding things pad corners down with extra glue), and the glue will end up working. Also, it says to not use too much glue so I tried it their way at first. But yeah, frustration got the best of me, and I used plenty on my eyelid pads (and held them down patiently until they stayed), and then plenty on my lash-sticking-to-the-pad process too. *shrug* whatevs. It worked.

I did have to cut my pads a bit because they were a bit big for my lids and cut the corners into a curve for comfort. I used the “small” pads.

I also bought the black eyelash tint from the same company, but it didn’t do much to my eyelashes. They’re a bit browner than the blonde, but I’ll need more practice on doing my own eyelashes for that. I think I’ll just do them separately from the lifting procedure ’cause I have a feeling all that glue and treatment I had just done was blocking the dye somewhat. The dye system is MUCH easier to do, anyway.

Okay so all in all, I did only one eye at a time, and it took an hour to 1.5 hours total (time to let each chemical process) and of course, the whole half hour needed in the stick-down process… 🤣 So only do this when you have TIME to do it, aren’t needing to have it done for some same-day even (let your irritated eyes and skin calm down overnight) and also, you need to be IN THE MOOD to do this. Like a spa-day, treat yourself day, because there WILL come a point in the early process that you will not be in the mood anymore. LOL!!! But once it gets going, you’ll wanna do all the nice things for yourself.

Oh also, no showers, steam or getting them wet for 24 hrs. Though I don’t know how all that works, ’cause I used my micellar water on a cleansing pad to carefully remove all the chemicals and glue from my lashes and lids (so essentially… they got wet, right?). I need to look into that more.

P.S. IF YOU DO THIS, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! This is an at-home procedure that requires the most patient, delicate hand, and care and deliberateness in every motion. It’s perm and dye chemicals. Right next to your eyeballs!!!!! And it did feel a little “sting-y” at times, even though I didn’t get any in my actually eyeball – I think it’s the fumes. It didn’t smell all that strong, but let’s be real. Chemicals. Plus, who knows how this affects allergies and sensitive skin (patch tests need to be done and all that, as well).

I only did it when I knew my husband was home, available in case of emergency. I watched video after video (not just the company’s tutorial) to see real people do it (some successful, some gave up). I laid everything out carefully. I washed and disinfected my entire work area, and I was at my sink so I had water read to go. He was VERY worried and skeptical, but all’s well that ends well (for me, this time at least).

P.P.S. This kit is plentiful! I have enough product and tools to do this again at least 2 or 3 more times!! It’s a DEAL!!! I have a feeling the second time around will be even better. I read online, that once eyelashes have been lifted, they respond even better upon re-treatment (but I’ll have to wait weeks to a few months to do it again so as not to over-process them).

So have you tried this? What do you think?
