Trying to remember a book I read years ago.

The girl is an artist and poor.

She finds a man slumped by the entrance to a building and they have a one time thing, He is young and rich. He finds her and then looses her. His father or uncle lies to her about him.

This is a 3 or 4 book book series. Setting is New York City.

Her name might be Julia. Written about the same time as Fifty Shades of Grey.
