Brandy needs our book help! Oh boy… the only baseball romance I read from wayyyyy back in the day was The Perfect Game: A Novel (The Game Series Book 1) by J. Sterling and this one ruined so many book-hearts!! LOL!!! There was fury and kindle throwing, and cheating and breakups and makeups and all of the crazy romance angst that we love to hate!! P.S. here’s my review of that one.
But… I obviously don’t think this is the one (though the titles are close). In mine, they were high school sweethearts before he became a pro.

Help me remember this baseball sports romance! Name that book, I am looking for the name of a baseball romance book. I thought it was “Perfect Catch” but there is a lot of books with that title and those aren’t it.
What I remember and names could be a little off:
Alyssa is a huge nfl fan and watches a professional baseball game with her then bf. She sees professional catcher “Scott Miller” on this NY team (not real life team”) and has a huge crush.
Fast forward one day after breaking up with current bf, she is in a hotel bar, I believe in NY, and the Catcher walks in with other players. They get to chatting and she pretends to not know who she is. She acts like their team is basketball and plays dumb through the entire encounter. Then after he gets her number and she is leaving she outs herself that she knows who there baseball team was all along.

Scott was going through a tuff separation at the time so his bf, Alex the pitcher for the team, wouldn’t let him call Alyssa till a few months after the divorce was final. Three months later Alyssa is grocery shopping and Scott calls her. She thinks it is her guy friend playing tricks on her. She ends up dropping a jar of marinara sauce on the floor she is so shocked.
author also went on to make a alternate book ending where she ends up with Alex the pitcher and I believe that was called “perfect pitch”.
Please help!
